Booms and Arms

The booms and arms of construction and earth moving machinery are subjected to strong dynamic stress; at the same time they play a crucial role in the dependability of the machine. UNEX is one of the traditional and experienced manufacturers of welded booms and arms and manufactures comprehensive series which are supplied to leading producers of end products all over the world.

The length range of booms manufactured ranges from 3 to more than 12 meters. Their weight ranges from 300 kg for small construction machines to 30 000 kg for large-scale mining machines. The quality of materials used fully depends on the requirements of customers – the variety of materials ranges from common constructional steels S275 and S355 to S690 steels with increased yield strength.

Booms can contain castings, e.g. at the hubs, or forgings, coming from the own foundry and forging shop.
