The First of Overhaul Repair Series at the Mostecká uhelná společnost has been finished

UNEX a.s., the engineering and metallurgical complex, producer of technological systems, machinery parts and castings, finished - as one of suppliers - the first major series of big overhaul repairs in the open cast mines of the Mostecká uhelná společnost (MUS - Most Coal Company). After eight months of overhaul repair works the KU800.7/K75 excavator will again be put into operation. This investment is part of the planned reconstruction of mining technology, at a cost to Mostecká uhelná společnost of almost one billion Czech crowns.
KU800.7/K75 is one of 3 key overburden machines in the Československá armáda locality. Costs of the overhaul repair were over 278 million Czech crowns. From the technical point of view it does not only concern the repair work, but also the significant modernization of the excavator. First of all the bucket-wheel drive was redesigned, which brings significantly higher machine mining capacity. In addition the whole electrical system was changed, including a new control system.
The first reconstruction will be followed with by further overhaul repairs to the KU300 and K800 excavators in 2004, including the coal stock machine. The first will be started in April at a cost of over 200 million Czech crowns.
The K75 is one of 24 KU800 series machines manufactured in Uničov.
