Meeting with regional representatives

Uničov, Wednesday 1 October 2003

The engineering-metallurgical complex UNEX a.s. - producer of technological systems, machinery parts and castings - introduced its current situation and prospects for the future to representatives of important regional institutions. Representatives of the regional government, the Senate, directors of the Social Security administration and the Bureau of Employment Security and many other regional institutions made a tour of the plant and viewed the foundry and production of technological units and machines. The tour was followed by a discussion with the new owners and top managers of the company.

The guests were interested mostly in the state of the company's restructuring, personnel policy (new job vacancies) and the company's active participation in the life of the region and the town Uničov itself.

Restructuring, which has already saved several hundred million crowns on costs, will continue. The number of technical-economical workers and indirect labour workers is to be reduced but, on the other hand, many workers e.g. welding operators, fitters, horizontal boring and milling machine operators etc. will be taken on.

"I am aware that UNEX is an integral part of Uničov and I hope it will continue to be," said the general director of UNEX. "It is only natural that the relationship between the strongest employer of the region and the representatives of regional institutions is being developed to suit everybody. Our aim is to become a flourishing company and also a strong and reliable partner for our employers and surroundings."

The mayor of Uničov, Jarmila Kaprálová, whose first employer was UNEX, highlighted the significance of UNEX for the town of Uničov and the whole region: "We are all concerned with the development and bloom of UNEX. The lives of many of our citizens are connected with UNEX and that's why UNEX is an inseparable part of our town. I wish UNEX success in acquiring orders and creating new job vacancies."
